Re: NO NOT DISTURB - Playing Mirror's Edge
Wow, you don't mess around when it comes to playing a game! It probably would take me a couple of weeks at least.

Re: Valve: Games may be too expensive.
In the current economic environment here in the U.S., I think that the optimal prices for computer games are going to substantially lower than they were a couple of years ago. I would imagine that the same is true in other countries as well. One of the first things people cut back on when faced with...

Far Cry 2
Just purchased Far Cry 2 this past weekend. The graphics in this game are outstanding! In fact, I'm more impressed with the graphics in this game than I am with the graphics in Assassin's Creed! Game runs perfect on my system with all graphic settings on highest at 1920x1200 on my Athlon 64 X2 5200+...

Re: Real power consumption of current graphics cards
Yep. A copy of Call of Duty World at War came with the 9800 GTX I purchased previously. I loaded it a couple of nights ago and started playing it without adjusting the fan speed. Sure enough, it became unstable and started behaving erratically after running for a while. Then it dawned on me that I f...

Re: Real power consumption of current graphics cards
The graph I linked to includes a mistake. 70°C is listed twice at the bottom. Someone should contact them and let them know, but I don't speak German or Swiss!

Re: Real power consumption of current graphics cards
Very interesting and useful article. The major revelation for me was the fact that power consumption increases with increasing temperature and this increase is exponential (increasing rate of change in power consumption as temp goes up). Yet another reason for computer enthusiasts and gamers to make...

Re: PC Air Cooling Tips
There is a little over 3 feet in a meter (1 foot = about 30cm), so think of a square box that is about 30cm on a side.

Re: PC Air Cooling Tips
So, you purchase from a UK etailer? How does that work? They are still using pounds and your country is on the euro, correct? I noticed that they rated the airflow in cubic feet per minute. I know that the foot is an English measurement, but I thought they switched to the metric system. Are PC cooli...

Re: PC Air Cooling Tips
I noticed that one of these fans moves 110 cfm at only 700 rpm! So, there is definitely a benefit to going larger on the fans.

Re: PC Air Cooling Tips
I think the thing it avoid too much of a pressure gradient between the inside on the case and the surround atmosphere in either direction. I don't think you would necessarily want too strong of positive pressure, as that might lead to a lot of air flow through the optical drives from inside the case...
