Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

I never tested it with prime 95 before either.

I guess a simple way to figure it out would be to put xp on and then run prime95. Though that takes time.

Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

all bought brand new two years ago. So, I guess it''s my old computer.

as for the CPU support, yes, I know it's suporrted. No clue why I get the same issues as that link. Temps for cores are the same as the casing temps, so I am assuming I am not getting the faulty temp display issue.

Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

So - the motherboard doesn't support the cpu - - and to get it to work stable you need to in effect underclock and lower the voltage... The same thing I did. So. Should I take this a hint that this may be the highest I can go? Now. would it be worth while trying out a new cpu? I don't think I can re...

Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

ya, no dice. Tried a bunch of combinations. can get it to start as low as 13 x. but nothing stable. anything less and it wont start, or I get BSOD and that's even with trying at a low speed of 3.0 Ghz for example 230 and 13x. if it's a heat issue, and I get a new heat sink, then pump up the voltage,...

I didn't assemble everything myself the cpu and cooler were assembled by the shop I bought it from. I have since took the cooler off, cleaned it, reapplied thermal paste and attached it back on. From what I can tell it's on good. drop the voltage?. K. It's at 1.3 right now. I can drop it more. I'll ...

Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

I think I may just end up taking it to the shop. The guy I bought it from has a degree in computer engineering. Is there a way of testing if it's a bus issue? I tired using only one ram in each. 1 and 2 were fine, 3 and 4 came back with errors. I'm not sure if that's really an error though. I could ...

Re: Worked on XP not on Windows 7

So... we know the answer. It's setting the 4 ram sticks in. 2 sticks with 2008 works perfectly. they pass both memtest 86 and memtest. I can also play that demo now without issues. I guess the only other thing to test would be if i can do the same with the 2010 memsticks. I bet you I can. So if that...
