Problem Description:
Uninstalling (via AMD Install Manager) Cat 14.7 RC3 > Reboot and then running amdcleanuputility (v 1.4.0.0) after it (because i was going back to a previous driver version), resulted in Creative X-Fi Auto-update for some reason kicking in, and failing with whatever it wanted to do.
After installing Catalyst 14.4 WHQL and a reboot, Creative X-Fi Auto-update took another chance and came up with the whole package of drivers (XFTI_PCDRV_L11_2_40_0008) and secondary software that i already had installed, to be installed again.
Very odd... because in Program Files (x86)/Creative all the drivers and software are still there and the Creative Diagnostics tests show that everything is still 100% all right and working with the card. It seems to me that amdcleanuputility has caused a corruption in the Creative X-Fi drivers and software manager. "Updating" them at the moment...
Why would AMD's software touch Creative's? I always do Custom install and always untick AMD's HD Audio drivers, and Gaming Evolved.
Edit: all done, and i'm very happy to mention that with Cat 14.4 WHQL, monitor sleep in Eyefinity (3-screen) is working again as it should, and no BSOD's anymore.
