PC Version of Assassin's Creed Full of Glitches

I'm getting near the end of the game and have noticed more and more glitches as I've gone along. My previous experience playing Ubisoft games is limited to the first 3 installments of Splinter Cell, but this is the buggiest by far. The bugs seem to become more prevalent as I progress through the game. The biggest glitch is the one where Altair seems to get stuck next to walls. Another prevalent issue is the one where it is difficult to get Altair to step down from a ladder (he keeps stepping back onto the bottom rung. Then there is the issue where the eagle circling a view point lands on the perch while Altair is there, so that their bodies intersect with the eagle going through Altair's body. Very strange. Other issues include birds frozen in the sky, NPCs sitting suspended above a bench, NPCs running in circles or otherwise stuck while walking or running, guards speaking languages other than English when English is selected as the language and a guard stuck standing in midair several meters above the ground and about a meter from a building, telling me that he is going to get me while not moving from his position. And all this with the latest patch installed!

I can't think of any game that doesn't have such glitches.
Hey but at least these don't block the game from proceeding, no? These are 'innocent' bugs.
