Select the "mm" key and delete it (Del on keyboard). It will be automatically recreated.

You don't have AVG antivirus installed by any chance?
How old is your Steam installation?

Could you post screenshots covering all installed software in your Control Panel > Software list please.

The steam installation is a couple of weeks old, and I don't have AVG antivirus.

Is there any faster way to get a list of installed programs than manually taking screnshots of the add/remove list ?

Yeah... System Information.
On Vista it is via:
All Programs > Accessories > Software Environment > Program Groups. On XP it is similar.
There are a few System info programs like Everest Home (if that still exists?) even the free version displayed all installed programs. EDIT: yes here it is: version 2.20:
SIW but the free version does not allow copying a report, only reading.

Nope, never owned the game until I bought the pack off of steam some time ago, steam has added some of the games to the add / remove programs list though =/

I'm not insinuating anything (but you have torrentclient installed....), but i want to make sure that you realise that a non-legal game is not supported and will meet Securom copyprotection (also on Steam).

You bought the game through Steam, then it is also registered?
Make sure your Symantec antivirus excludes mm.exe (it is often considered a virus). It is possible that installation of the game went wrong if you have not shut down antivirus before installing.


Shut down and make them NOT startup with Windows:
torrent
QuickTime
Nero 7 (just incase, because a Quicktime plugin is known to cause some problems)
Nero BurnRights (why do you have it even installed, Nero 7 can burn)
Skype
CDDRV_Installer
EU Screen Saver
Symantec AntiVirus and LiveUpdate
VOIPlay

With these programs disabled, reboot and try the game again.

On my other test PC i just installed latest version of Steam, and am downloading Dark Messiah there (15% atm), so i'll see what it does.

This is a fresh installed Steam, with Dark Messiah singleplayer as only game installed. And detailed view shows:

And no, I wouldn't ask for support on a pirated game :thumbup:

I'll try to remove the game and re-install it, if it says the full size (or almost at least) in the add/remove programs, then my version might be wrongly installed.
