Well done!!!
lelorien wrote:But the lag persists, though less then before. One thing my friend and I noticed: according to "Windows experience index" (an integrated W7 tool that evaluates and rates your compononents) my CPU is worth a score of 3.2, and his: 6.9. The thing is: we have the same exact cpu.
That is after a refresh of the score?
You both have an E8400? He's running his at over 4 Ghz i guess? the WEI reads the default clock and the multiplier. But it doesn't understand ½ step. I have mine (on Vista x64) at 3.8 Ghz with a 8½ multiplier, Windows thinks it runs at 4.05 Ghz (so with a 9 multiplier). My score is 5.8. 6.4 seems a bit high to me. But then, WEI on Vista scores lower than on Win 7.
Anyways, WEI is unimportant and should not be taken seriously. But still, 3.2 is rediculously low, not normal. As if it's running single core. :wth:

Let me look at your BIOS settings. Could you take pictures of every single page of your bios and post them here. You can use the attachment option so they are stored on this forum, if you want.

I had the same thought! Either that, or one of the RAM modules. My friend is not overclocking and I did refresh the scores.I'll take the pictures.

This seems all right, and your CPU is running at 3.00 Ghz so that's normal. You have (too) many things on Auto but well ok i don't know that board.
So, the low score problem is not reflected in bios. It happens in Windows, so the obvious question now is do you have all WindowsUpdate patches and fixes installed?
VisualC++ Redist 2005/2008 installed and fully updated? Microsoft .Net Framework 4?

EDIT: Oh wait... what's that? From your first post:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Ehmm.. :whi:
On an "unofficial" Windows 7 version you'll never get your BSOD problem solved. :nope:

Funny: the score went up to 4.9 and is now at 4.8 after a new scan. Could one of my cores simply die?

EDIT:

I searched a little on my own, and I found this program:

Image

According to this, my cpu is running at 2.00 ghz. After waiting a little, I see the core speed fluctuate between 3ghz and 2ghz, but only for a moment.

Another thing, my CPU temperature is 92 degrees celcius, my friends (with the same cpu, cooling and chasis) is at 45 degrees.
