CREATE A DXDIAG REPORT:

  • Windows XP:
Click Start > Run... type in
    dxdiag
    click OK.
Give it a few moments to create the report (watch the loading bar to complete and disappear).
Select to Save All Information. Open the file in Notepad, select all, copy then paste the complete text into your next reply
    in a window with scrollbar.

  • Windows Vista / 7:
In the Search box (just above the Start button) type:
    dxdiag
    hit Enter.
Leave the box "Check for WHQL digital signatures" ticked.
Give it a few moments to create the report (watch the loading bar to complete and disappear).
Select to Save All Information. Open the file in Notepad, select all, copy then paste the complete text into your next reply
    in a window with scrollbar.

POST IT IN A WINDOW WITH SCROLLBAR
Before pasting your dxdiag into your post, hit the Scroll button.
It is especially invented for that. ;)

1. Click button "
Scroll":
You'll notice that your
cursor has put itself automatically inbetween the brackets:

2. So, all you do now is paste
(Ctrl+V):

Click "Submit".
Your post now shows your dxdiag report in a window with a scrollbar. In stead of the extremely long post it would have made otherwise.

Thanks. :)
