loud fan problem

Post by jutemachine »

I recently bought 3 new fans to put in my computer (with leds, because I wanted my computer to glow more :D). I installed them and I ahve a problem : they are too loud. I would like a way to control the speed, I just don't really know how. I tried using speedfan, but didn't really worked (or I didn't really knew how it worked :P). I looked a bit for a fan controller that could work with my fans, but didn't really know which kind of connectors I needed. I know I look a bit disoriented, because I am :P. Any tips? :D

Thanks!

Ohh you should have bought the ultrasilent by coolermaster. or this noctua
A fancontroller will help reducing the noise, by lowering the rpm. But the silent fans are silent because of their bearing, and/or by being larger (thus more airflow at lower speed).
Anyway, a fancontroller will help. Which connectors, what do you mean? It's plain and straightforward.

Ok, so for a fancontroller anything will do? I mean there is only 1 type of connector?

Oh and, do you have any suggestion of a ''trustable'' one that can control at least 3 fans?

The one i linked to! :)

again: the scythe.
The fans instead of directly plugging onto the motherboard, are plugged into this bay first. 4 total with this one.
