AS for the 3dmark 06 crashing.
it seems to only crash when the card is underclocked. Default settings work fine for the test.

You now have a benchmark running well after a reboot. A game (AC) crashing.
I would say try more (demanding) games, to see if AC is the only one that crashes.

100 gig partition of a 500 gig drive

Another suggestion would be a no-dvd patch on AC to see if that solves the crash...
that could be....
Watch the versions! v1.0 or 1.02 depending if you installed the game's patch.
