Is it possible to erase a hard drive with magnets?

Post by Blín D'ñero »

Very interesting!

My question: can the subwoofer of a Logitech Z-5500 surround set, which has an unshielded magnet, damage electromagnetic devices in its neighbourhood? It is what the manual warns for, especially that it can damage PC's and their internal hdd's.
Claim in following link is: no, it cannot. Rest assured. ;)
