Dark Messiah Steam Version "mm.exe has stopped working"

After trying all these steps I still have the same problem, the game still wont launch. Still "mm.exe has stopped working" I checked and there is nothing added in the registry after trying to start the game.

That's good; you haven't run the game yet.

Now. In your dxdiag i do not see SP1 installed. You need it, as you need all performance updates and fixes.

1. Download and install, from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... px?id=5842, service pack 1
2. After that, run Windows Update for a whole slew of critical updates and fixes released since SP1.
3. After that all, it is time to defragment and optimize. If you don't have a good one now, take Auslogics Defrag (freeware), it does the job excellently.

   So, defrag and optimize (will take a while).

Updated Windows and defagmented my harddrive, but it didn´t help. Slowly I get the feeling that this game will never work. Anything left I can try?

Why would this game never work? Only if something on the PC blocks it from working correctly.

1. Post your new updated Dxdiag please.
2. And a post a screenshot of your "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update\View update history" list please.

Both seem alright.

1. Could you post screenshots of your installed programs list (in Control Panel -> Programs and Features please. Some programs are known to block the game.
2. Have you put an exception for mm.exe in your antivirus application (assuming you use one)? Some consider it a virus.
3. In Steam > Properties of Dark Messiah single player -> have you checked-on "keep this game updated"?
4. Try: set Steam interface language to english. Play the english version of the game.
   (If you want to play the game in German, there is a registry trick that seems to work).

I already had put an axception for mm.exe in my antivirus list, and the game should be up to date, because "keep this game updated" is checked. I also already had the steam interface in english, tried setting it to german, but the game still won´t start. I have attached a list of all my installed programms. Sorry for the bad quality, the maximal filesize is 500 KiB, so I had to reduce it alot.

• Disable, or even uninstall Stardock Objectdock (known for blocking the game).

Both disabling and uninstalling objecktdock did nothing to me. I did restart after uninstalling.
