Monitor and Colour

Post by Blín D'ñero »

The Dell U2410 utilises an 8-bit H-IPS panel, capable of producing 16.7 million colours. The screen also features 10-bit internal colour processing, and has a palette of 1.07 billion colours available. Like many modern displays, the screen uses enhanced CCFL backlighting and can offer a colour gamut covering 102% of the NTSC colour space.

ICC Version 2 or 4? (nativedigital.co.uk)
Those comments are pretty old (February 7, 2013). ICC 4.0 is supported by Internet Explorer 9, 10, 11
Lightroom 4 (and 5) fully supports it. Photoshop 5.5, 6 support it (i don't know about older versions)

Spyder4Pro by Datacolor (datacolor.com) .

From the Readme:
3) On Windows, it is necessary to use a separate video card for each monitor. Multi-head video cards (one card that drives multiple monitors) will not work because Windows will not allow you to assign a different profile to each monitor.
I calibrated the center monitor, and manually *on the eye* made the left and right ones as closest as possible (took me some time), and eventually they really look the same.

By default, it saves the profile at C:\Users\*YOU*\AppData\Local\Datacolor\Spyder4Pro\MQA

I use it on my 3 × DELL U2410 Eyefinity setup. I only calibrate the center screen, then adjust the left and right screen manually based on sight.
