It seems they do not require the SLI bridge because of the relatively low bandwidth. In the case when you would have two high-powered cards, like two 8800 GTXs, the bridge becomes vital for optimal performance. Without the bridge, the GPUs are forced to communicate through the pci-express bus; with low-bandwidth cards (such as yours) there's enough bandwidth "room" for the GPUs to communicate and access the necessary data without over-saturating the pci-express bus.

Please just try one card to see if it functions well.

Then go to nVidia control panel > 3D settings > you will see (under a bar labeled performance) a link that says Set SLI Configuration. Click the link to enter the Set SLI Configuration area.
If your settings show Do Not Use SLI Technology, you need to click the button beside the link labeled Enable SLI Technology, and in the bottom right click button "Apply", then SLI should be enabled.
I hope this works.

So, try it without the connector that apparently is not needed for those cards.
But they are so low performance to begin with that SLI doesn't make any sense and is not worth the hassle.

If you want to play games, start with a real gaming card to begin with.
From the 8xxx series the very very least is the 8600GT (do not even try anything below it), the 8800GT is a true gaming card for great performance.
From the 9xxx series, the 9600 GT is the very least (do not try anything below it), the 9800GT is great.

And the best, troublefree solution is always a good/better/best performing single card over any SLI/Crossfire solution.
