Always with a downloaded file (drivers / executable / .zip / .rar, etc.):
right-click on the downloaded file > Properties... on the "General" tab there usually is a security blockade.
Before doing anything with the file (unpacking/executing/installing), hit button "Unblock".
Files such as patches, expansions for a game, programs like a glide wrapper might not install correctly from a blocked source.
Btw, sometimes after a failure, you need to first empty the Windows\Temp and the Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Temp folders because the corrupted version of the unpacked blocked file is in one of those folders and is simetimes not overwritten by the new unblocked version... meaning you'll get a failure again. Untill the corrupted version is deleted.
